What is 'KngofNoiz'?

KngofNoiz stands for “King of Noise”.

It’s a screen name / nick name and the name of my music publishing company (KngofNoiz Music A.S.C.A.P).  It comes from a song I wrote.  My birth name is Todd H. Sims and that is what you'll see on film scoring credits, etc.

Barking Cow Productions the name of my studio-  I like cows alot.

Ok, what's up with this strange symbol or sign I keep seeing on all the pages?  Is this like a satanic or some sort cult thing?

It’s a traditional Hindu “Om” or “Aum” symbol, so no; it’s not satanic or a cult symbol.  I just like it and it looks cool. It stands for “the sound from which emerges each and every other sound, whether music or language” or “the primal sound / vibration from which the entire universe emanates.”  It also means a lot of different things to different people.  It is sacred in Hinduism, but I don’t use it in a religious way. I mean no offense to any practicing Hindus out there.

How can I hear more (or longer) musical samples or see video clips of your scoring work?

If you are really interested, send me an e-mail with your contact information (name, address, etc)- I could mail you a whole CD's worth along with clips on a promotional DVD.  But please remember that everything is copyrighted, and in some cases has been used in a film already- This would be for Demo purposes only, not to be used as source or soundtrack music without my written permission.  Depending on the circumstances, I could be persuaded to e-mail you a larger set of Mp3 as well.

Can I book recording time in your studio?

No, sorry.  The studio is only for my personal use at the moment.  It’s really set up as a one-dude operation.  Of course, you would be welcome if we were collaborating on a project or something.  I am open to producing and remixing others material, but I generally approach them myself.

Can I offer you a multi-million dollar recording or film scoring deal?

Why, yes. Yes you may. In fact, it doesn't have to be in the millions, in the hundreds would do.

What instruments do you play?

Piano, acoustic/electric guitar, bass guitar, trombone, synths and I sing.  These days, I would include drum and percusion programming, loop manipulation and experimental algorithmic computer composition as well.  For more info, check out my BIO page.

Have you been in any movies (acting)?

I was in “The People vs. Larry Flynt” as an extra.  I had very long hair at the time and they dressed my up to look like a sleazy guys from the 1970’s.  I did get a good close up though (at 12:12:12 on DVD) and I got to see Ms. Love naked, although that really doesn’t put me a very exclusive group of folks.

I played “Thug #3” (or was it “#2”?) in the wonderful indie film “Rookie Bookie”.  I also did the score for that film as well.

I played a larger speaking role in Last Train to Memphis' film "Service with a Smile".  Here the character was a pimp.  Am I getting type cast?

I played the lead character in short film"Split Decision", Leon.

Where did you play when you were in rock bands in Memphis?

The Attic

Crazy Larry’s

The cock-eyed Camel

The Library / The Oasis

Club 616

Barristers

New Daisy Theater

Storage USA

Some place across the street from the legendary Antenna club, but I can't remember the name, gosh, I've played there several dates...Murphy's, that's it.

(Most of these are closed now, I don’t claim responsibility, but the timing of the closures and our gigs is kind of suspicious)
